Chris Peach imagines the Imperium as flamboyantly baroque, so his Guardsmen wear hats and plumed helmets borrowed from Empire Pistoliers. Plume colours and increasing hat size provide his own system of rank and role. He collects units as inspiration strikes and enjoys heroic last stands, making the force’s identity a mixture of personal ornamentation and enthusiasm for ordinary soldiers facing overwhelming danger.
