Black Library staff select twenty-five novels and omnibuses to celebrate the breadth of Warhammer 40,000 fiction, placing Eisenhorn first, followed by the Iron Warriors omnibus and Battle of the Fang. The selection spans Space Marine Chapters, alien perspectives, the Imperial Guard and the Inquisition, while deliberately excluding the Horus Heresy because it belongs to an earlier legendary age. Dan Abnett reflects on the imaginative continuity from Rogue Trader to contemporary fiction, and Aaron Dembski-Bowden credits the depth of the background for giving the setting a life beyond the tabletop.

A Return to Middle-earth

The Lord of the Rings

Andy Hall introduces the Strategy Battle Game through the stories and alternative outcomes it lets players explore, from saving Boromir to pitching unlikely opponents against each other.
