Monster Hunting

September 2011·p. 39

THE SHORT VERSION

Before committing troops, Simon Grant asks whether killing a monster is actually necessary for victory. If it is, shooting offers low-risk damage and numerical pressure can trap the creature, while breaking its army may force a poor-Courage monster to flee. Immobilise followed by a lance charge gives a controlled attack; Adam Troke’s example also traps a terrifying enemy with nearby models that never enter combat and therefore avoid Courage tests.
