Faith Versus Instinct

THE SHORT VERSION

Robin Cruddace’s Sisters of Battle defend a Fortress of Redemption against Tom Hutchings’ Tyranids in a 1,500-point Seize Ground battle. An early Seraphim mishap and a Trygon appearing within the defence strain the Sisters, but Acts of Faith and Exorcist missiles restore their firing line. Delayed Genestealers arrive against troops already protected by cover and Jacobus, while late moves contest Tyranid-held ground. The Sisters finish with two objectives against one, and Robin credits the fortress, faith and favourable saves rather than an effortless victory.

Arena of Death: Nurgle Chaos Lord vs. Saurus Oldblood

Andrew Kenrick and Matt Hutson compare two powerful characters through three duels, each using a different equipment combination under a 300-point ceiling. The Chaos Lord wins in Lustria, but the Oldblood’s defensive modifiers and counterattack level the contest in the north.
