THE SHORT VERSION

Mawhrin Skell’s Chaos invasion drives the defenders towards Mousillon and draws both the Duke of Quenelles and the Undead into the struggle. A prophetic warning and desperate circumstances produce a sorcerous pact whose consequences may outlast the immediate battle. In the accompanying Bloody Challenge, Moriva Darkstalker and her Zombie Dragon fight Skell’s Manticore among the clouds; the Vampire returns, but Skell disappears from history for a century.
