Black Dragon: Painting the Dragon
August 2011·pp. 86–88
THE SHORT VERSION
Adeptus Battlegrey skin and Charadon Granite membranes are shaded with Badab Black, leaving the monster dark without losing its sculpted detail. Successive grey and khaki highlights describe the musculature and wings, while bone spines, purple mouth tissue and blue-black claws receive their own controlled highlights. Gold armour is washed and restored separately, creating a warm contrast against the creature’s subdued body.
