Modelling Workshop: Black Dragon
August 2011·pp. 82–89
THE SHORT VERSION
Duncan Rhodes takes the Dark Elf Black Dragon from a planned assembly to a finished centrepiece. The guide builds a stable model from the base upwards, leaves the rider and throne separate for painting, and uses repeated dry fitting to avoid awkward joins. A dark grey body, muted wings, purple rider details and weathered rocky base give the finished monster a coherent scheme despite its many surfaces.
