INTERVIEW·WHITE DWARF 379

Here Be Monsters

July 2011·pp. 28–37

THE SHORT VERSION

Andy Hall asks Trish Carden how she develops the new Chimera, Manticore, Black Dragon and Cockatrice. Mythology supplies starting points, but Warhammer identity and a threatening silhouette matter more than literal fidelity. Sketches, mock-ups, carefully worked manes and distinct wings turn the concepts into dynamic kits, while plastics and light resin free the poses from older constraints; the rider designers add alternatives without preventing the monsters from serving any army.
