Fighting Withdrawal

March 2011·p. 38

THE SHORT VERSION

An outnumbered defender begins near the centre and tries to withdraw toward safety as a stronger attacker advances from the opposite edge. Surviving units and those escaping earn additional points, but withdrawal requires an ordinary move rather than a march. The attacker can send a Core unit in from another edge as escape-blockers, creating a moving battle rather than a static last stand.
