Tank Camouflage
September 2010·pp. 96–97
THE SHORT VERSION
Two worked methods establish either a hand-painted three-colour disruptive pattern or hard-edged shapes built with successive masking layers. The accompanying eight regimental examples extend those methods to red, arctic, night, ash, swamp and desert schemes, each with named base, pattern and highlight paints. The article explains that a tank’s camouflage breaks up its shape and vulnerable details, giving a reason for the markings beyond simply matching an infantry uniform.
