Contrasting and Painting Red
February 2010·pp. 82–83
THE SHORT VERSION
Neil Green demonstrates near-black red armour with strong edge highlights and a glowing magma pattern for a Khorne Lord’s Juggernaut. He then compares red cloth shaded with green or blue, using cooler tones to retain richness and avoid muddy shadows. The examples show two different uses of contrast: bright lines can emphasise a very dark surface, while hue changes give a broad red area more depth.
