PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 362

Lizardmen and Skin Tones

February 2010·p. 102

THE SHORT VERSION

The Kroxigor repeats a two-tone face with its lighter area around the mouth, using khaki to lighten a Regal Blue foundation. Warm shading and a complementary tongue keep the cool skin lively, while sharply edged scales contrast with blended flesh. The examples compare bright Skinks, more subdued Saurus and darker Kroxigor, explaining how colour intensity can communicate size and power within one army.
