Painting Warrior Armour

August 2008·p. 26

THE SHORT VERSION

A black undercoat and solid Boltgun Metal base establish the Warrior’s armour before a generous Badab Black wash darkens the recesses and dulls the shine. Chainmail then restores definition to the raised edges. Chris Peach presents the sequence as a reusable method for metallic areas, allowing a rank-and-file model to retain strong contrast with relatively few operations.
