Painting Sea Dragon Cloaks

August 2008·p. 27

THE SHORT VERSION

The cloak’s two surfaces receive different palettes: dark green scales rise through a mixed green overbrush to Goblin Green, while the hide moves from Dark Flesh to progressively warmer Vomit Brown mixtures. The final hide highlight adds Dwarf Flesh. Treating scales and skin separately makes the reptilian material recognisable without requiring individual scale painting throughout the unit.
