Standard Bearer: Liberating Your Collection

September 2007·pp. 70–72

THE SHORT VERSION

Jervis sees Apocalypse as permission to use a whole collection, revisit neglected miniatures and add models purely because they inspire the collector. Planned multiplayer battles remove the need for ordinary organisation limits, depending instead on friends who value a satisfying shared experience. He compares that freedom with the exuberance of the hobby’s early years, explaining how Apocalypse restores unusual combinations and vast formations while retaining the common Warhammer 40,000 rules that made ordinary games easier to arrange.
