Designer’s Notes: Chaos Spawn

September 2007·p. 92

THE SHORT VERSION

Aly Morrison seeks the variety missing from fixed-pose Spawn without losing the unity absent from earlier collections of loose parts. Interchangeable bipedal bodies preserve a sense of forward movement, while colleagues testing a tub of mock-up appendages reveal a preference for repeating claws or spikes. Those experiments become both the kit’s design direction and his advice to modellers: build an insect, clawed beast or tentacled creature with a recognisable subject.
