Painting Workshop: Getting Started
January 2007·pp. 64–67
THE SHORT VERSION
The opening instalment of a new painting series begins before the first coloured layer: selecting tools, cleaning mould lines, fitting parts and filling joints. It explains brush choice and care, the purpose of acrylic paints and inks, and the different opportunities offered by black and white undercoats. A spray stick provides a practical way to prime multiple figures while retaining access to awkward surfaces.
