TACTICS·WHITE DWARF 323

Annals of War: Cavalry

November 2006·pp. 88–92

THE SHORT VERSION

Mat Ward divides mounted troops into light, versatile, shock and monstrous categories, each with a different way to exploit speed and mass. Their charge can turn a fight sharply, but the extra cost makes careless losses especially damaging. Examples and suggested manoeuvres explain harassment, flanking and repeated charges, while the heaviest mounts project a threat that can alter the opponent’s movement even before they attack.
