Painting Horns

July 2006·p. 67

THE SHORT VERSION

Anja Wettergren demonstrates a layered horn finish on the Forest Dragon that can also serve antlers and other Wood Elf models. A dark Scorched Brown base is developed through brown and yellow-brown highlights, then increasingly fine lines of bone and white. Narrowing the marks as the colours brighten preserves the darker grooves and creates the appearance of a naturally ridged surface.
