The Art of Warhammer: The Horde

June 2006·pp. 86–90

THE SHORT VERSION

Jeff Leong questions successful Skaven general Matthew York about controlling an army of hundreds of individually unimpressive troops. Redundant ranked units, deliberately sacrificed Slaves and a carefully positioned general turn numbers and leadership into advantages, while weapon teams and shooting shape the routes available to an opponent. The interview also explains how to attack such an army: threaten its leadership, anchor a flank on terrain, present separated dangers and avoid pursuing a tempting sacrifice into the next prepared trap.
