THE SHORT VERSION

Night Runners and Gutter Runners manoeuvre around the enemy while cheap troops occupy the front and conceal Assassins. Scouting and tunnelling let the elite infiltrators threaten positions that the main horde cannot reach quickly. The plan depends on timing and coordination, however: fast enemy cavalry can counter the skirmishers, and keeping an Assassin protected within a unit can make delivering him to the right opponent difficult.
