Painting Workshop: Dogs of War Giants
May 2006·pp. 62–67
THE SHORT VERSION
Neil Langdown demonstrates how a large centrepiece benefits from patient preparation and individually mixed colours. Mid-tone basecoats save time across the Giant’s broad surfaces, then controlled shading and thin layered highlights build depth without obscuring the patchwork clothing. The final details range from a captive peasant and painted shield designs to rope, masonry, wood and dragon scales, making the model a collection of distinct materials rather than one oversized infantryman.
