THE SHORT VERSION
The Giant begins from the intended middle values of its colours, allowing shadows to be added later across such a large model. Separate mixtures establish pale flesh and several cloth colours, while simple foundations pick out the shield, scroll and yellow patches. The captive peasant receives his own compact palette, demonstrating how a small narrative accessory can remain distinct without interrupting the larger model’s restrained, weathered appearance.
