Hobby Homecoming: Hull’s Moria Board

April 2006·pp. 104–105

THE SHORT VERSION

Nick Kyme returns to the store where he first encountered the hobby and meets a team with strong modelling and tournament interests. Dan Doughty’s Moria board uses expanding foam around removable forms to create rock passages, then plaster bandage and texture unify the surface. His converted Emperor’s Children models and the accompanying staff gallery show the same appetite for distinctive projects. The visit also records how regular events and social connections keep a local hobby group active.
