Desert Creatures: Sun Worms and Sand Worms

April 2006·pp. 70–71

THE SHORT VERSION

Sun Worms store solar energy and discharge it as a defence, explaining the dangerous ground around their positions. Sand Worms instead emerge at unpredictable locations and can pull victims below the surface if they fail to react. Both results are generated as part of the desert’s terrain rather than purchased army units. The accompanying biological note makes the hazards feel like inhabitants of the setting rather than arbitrary damage rolls.
