PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 313

Painting Bretonnian Horses

January 2006·p. 57

THE SHORT VERSION

Mike paints bright heraldic barding over white while black separates the armour, leather and hooves. Chainmail drybrushing supplies metal, then thinned Sunburst Yellow and Enchanted Blue establish alternating quarters with white-mixed highlights. Scorched Brown horses receive Chestnut Ink shading and Graveyard Earth drybrushing. Small silver rivets, white teeth and sharply lined shields complete a repeatable treatment suited to an army with many mounts.
