Army of Elrond

THE SHORT VERSION

Adrian Wood contrasts his individually coloured Mordor warbands with a uniform Last Alliance host led by Elrond. Eight armour tests compare undercoats and green washes before he selects Catachan Green, Ardcoat and water over a light gold foundation. The same mixture shades the whole warrior, creating consistent muted colour quickly. Elrond begins in the same batch but gains extra skin, hair, cloth and blade highlights so the army’s leader stands apart.

In Darkness and Light

Adrian Wood builds five Initiates from the new Crusader, Tactical and Assault components, choosing poses suited to their weapons and visible detail. He first paints a fast black-white-red gaming scheme, then develops it with controlled edge highlights, crosses, lenses and richer details. The tutorial progresses from practical construction and transfers to freehand heraldry and the fine liturgy on studio Helbrecht and Grimaldus models, offering successive improvements to an already playable squad.
