MODELLING·WHITE DWARF 310

Using a Pin Vice and Reposing Models

October 2005·p. 44

THE SHORT VERSION

A nick guides the drill, and a paint mark transferred from the installed pin locates the corresponding hole on the second part. Paperclip wire or brass rod then strengthens the join. A second example partially saws through an elbow, bends the remaining metal carefully and fills the opening, showing how drilling and limited cutting can change a pose while preserving enough material to support it.
