The Ruins of Osgiliath
October 2005·pp. 46–49
THE SHORT VERSION
Adrian Wood translates one film photograph into a playable ruined building rather than copying every fragment literally. A checklist and rough mock-up establish arch dimensions, corner joints and a removable upper floor before the detailed foamboard version is made. Scored masonry, scattered tiles and controlled rubble communicate destruction without removing places for models to stand. Pale drybrushing, green weathering and abandoned Orc equipment complete the ruin.
