The Petrified Forest and the Black Forests

THE SHORT VERSION

The Petrified Forest is a silent expanse of stone trees and ash whose origin is only vaguely associated with ancient godlike powers. Northern Naggaroth’s Black Forests contain living but equally forbidding timber, slave gangs, monoliths and forgotten ruins. The two descriptions connect desolation to Dark Elf industry and uncertain prehistory, suggesting different settings for a battle within the same harsh continent.
