Maneater servants consider themselves the elite and dress in mismatched equipment inspired by tales of distant lands. Few actually travel, but they retell borrowed adventures as personal achievements, often mangling details they do not understand. Smaller listeners tolerate the boasts in hope of scraps or beer. The portrait distinguishes the group’s cultivated mercenary image from its generally sheltered reality.
