Lords

THE SHORT VERSION

An Ogre’s distinctive bite permanently earmarks a favoured Gnoblar, granting the pet authority and protection. The resulting Lords bully others but become terrified of rivals, replacement pets and their master’s death. Fraudulent earmarks offer a precarious imitation of that status. Great-King-Lord Bezer’s brief empire under Greasus ends when his master collapses onto him, illustrating how even remarkable cunning cannot remove the physical vulnerability beneath his rank.
