LORE·WHITE DWARF 310

Avelorn and Athel Loren

October 2005·pp. 112–113

THE SHORT VERSION

Avelorn’s travelling court, ancient glamours and legendary creatures make it appear an idyllic realm of near-immortal abundance. Athel Loren instead presents a watchful, disorienting forest bounded by waystones and filled with unseen movement. The comparison shows that Elven woodland can be beautiful and dangerous in different ways, providing distinct reasons for outsiders to fear entry rather than treating all enchanted forests as interchangeable.
