Stippling and Flicking

June 2005·p. 139

THE SHORT VERSION

Two methods create a broken rust surface over Dark Flesh. Stippling uses a nearly dry old brush to dab Vermin Brown and Blazing Orange, then restores worn metal at the edges with Chainmail. Flicking instead sprays successive colours from an old toothbrush, producing a finer irregular speckle. Ogre examples painted by Dave Cross and Dave Andrews demonstrate how these textures can be applied to weapons and armour.
