THE SHORT VERSION

A vision sends Tristan the Troubadour after Sir Artrenic, whose stolen documents could divide Bretonnia’s noble houses. The Battle of Montfort repeatedly prevents Tristan reaching his quarry, and the ensuing pursuit through Axe Bite Pass seems hopeless until reckless Knights Errant charge the Imperial rearguard; Tristan joins them, kills the traitor and burns the documents without reading them.
