PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 299

Preparing for Battle

November 2004·pp. 110–113

THE SHORT VERSION

Paul Rudge finishes his converted Mûmak with an intentionally limited, naturalistic palette, working from the huge skin surfaces outward to tusks, woodwork, ropes and crew. Layered drybrushing brings out the kit’s texture, while earthy warpaint, varied hides and the Mahûd’s face markings supply character without abandoning the restrained colours.
