THE SHORT VERSION

Gav Thorpe describes the political crisis caused by Luthor Huss’s claim that Valten is Sigmar reborn. Pilgrims gather outside Altdorf as the Grand Theogonist demands their dispersal, leaving Karl Franz to choose between dangerous rival sources of authority. Valten’s entrance to the city brings the dispute before the Emperor. Franz answers by giving him Ghal Maraz while retaining the Runefang and his political office, presenting shared leadership as the means to unite the Empire against the approaching Chaos invasion.
