Painting Freehand Banners: Petunias
April 2026·p. 85
THE SHORT VERSION
Amber constructs the petunia device from three rough diamond shapes in thinned Rhinox Hide, then simplifies them into small house-like outlines. Black Legion makes the final shapes more definite, after which dots and inward lines cut the design into petals. The method separates planning from neat finishing, allowing an intricate-looking emblem to be built from a handful of manageable marks.
