THE SHORT VERSION

John connects his recent armies through the same understated brown basing. Sand is secured with glue, given several thinned brown coats and drybrushed progressively lighter. The neutral result is bright enough for dark miniatures and dark enough for pale ones, making it useful across very different forces.
