Models of the Month: Ultramarines Bladeguard Veterans

March 2026·p. 115

THE SHORT VERSION

Phil Winterbourne uses smooth glazes and progressively pale edges to give the Bladeguard an ’Eavy Metal appearance. Blue armour is darker towards the bottom of each panel, cloth folds receive separate light and dark glazing, and the swords use opposed gradients with a sharp pale rim. Only the two paints actually named in his explanation are indexed.
