THE SHORT VERSION

Huron stockpiles arms, expands his Chapter and withholds tithes and gene-seed, defending his autonomy as necessary to secure the Maelstrom. Destroying an investigating fleet makes the breach irreparable. As Loyalist pressure increases, allied Chapters surrender or withdraw and his original claim to serve the Imperium becomes bitter, increasingly paranoid opposition to it.

Huron Blackheart — The Blood Reaver

Huron survives the Badab War through immense reconstructive surgery and builds a new power base amid the Maelstrom’s shifting dangers. He grants followers room to pursue their own ambitions while demanding tribute and obedience, destroying those who challenge him.
