Hobby Hangout: Battlefield Legacies
July 2025·pp. 12–15
THE SHORT VERSION
Dan turns memorable games into lasting marks on the models that fought them. Purity seals reward Blood Angel deeds, tiny scratches record deaths, campaign transfers distinguish veteran Mechanicus units, and kill markings build a history on Imperial tanks. He also follows Ratticus Klaue through successive Skaven incarnations and promotes surviving T’au warriors into new battlesuit models after repeated games. Each method keeps bookkeeping simple enough to become a habit.
The examples show several ways of connecting hobby decisions to an army’s fiction rather than merely decorating a miniature. Some records commemorate a single campaign, others grow over years, and his planned Cities of Sigmar force will add trophies and emberstone to veterans’ bases. A model’s evolving appearance becomes a visible record that players can retell long after the battle.
