The Falling Blossom

July 2025·pp. 82–89

THE SHORT VERSION

Tom Taylor Bigg’s Grand Narrative judges’ choice army grows from a Harlequin kill team into a broader Ynnari collection. Cherry blossom, inspired by Japanese art and the beauty of transience, becomes the visual thread linking varied warbands and organic freehand designs. Crusade-developed characters encourage extensive cross-faction kitbashing, from the opposing light and dark leaders of the masque to the paired figures used as Yvraine’s emissaries and the Visarch.

Individual models extend that narrative through colour and pose: a dusty, fire-associated Farseer turns blossoms towards ash, the Yncarne mixes ethereal energy with deliberately fleshy soulstones, and a kneeling Wraithseer lifts a dying Harlequin. Shared vegetation and basing bind the diverse force into one environment, letting different sub-factions retain their character while belonging to a common story.
