THE SHORT VERSION

Carlos studies decomposing reptiles to push the familiar black-bone-red zombie-dragon palette into more convincing decay. Neutral cool skin contrasts with warm bone and exposed organs, while saturated crimson-purple membranes fade into paler edges instead of becoming an unreadable black mass. Brighter head bones focus attention, and subtle green-blue glazes connect the creature to the army’s corrosion and poisonous breath.

Hive Smasha: Ork Gargant

Simon Coquin spends six months building a vast Gargant inspired by the Epic Great Gargant, using plasticard and accumulated parts. Leadbelcher and pale underlayers support airbrushed blue panels, while Martian Ironearth, sponged browns and orange, and metallic stippling create thick corrosion. Killa Kan turrets, a reactor cover and a Warhound weapon convey the project’s scale and his ambition to face a Warlord Titan.
