Portraits of War: Rain of Vengeance

THE SHORT VERSION

Inspired by John Blanche, Roman shows Black Templars under an artillery barrage with a painted backdrop extending the battle. He builds and paints the entire piece together, ensuring every model shares the same direction, colour and intensity of light. Treating only the visible scene as essential lets the composition function like a cut-out from a larger war.
