’Eavy Metal Brush Tips: Soulblight Gravelords

THE SHORT VERSION

Carlos and Tom develop the new Soulblight collection around the passage of time. Bronze armour, varied verdigris, faded fabrics and grave dirt make the Deathrattle look like generations of an ancient civilisation rather than newly manufactured undead. Vhordrai’s glossy blood-red armour deliberately breaks that weathered pattern, while two Draconith palettes tie huge creatures into the army without losing their individual character.

Hive Smasha: Ork Gargant

Simon Coquin spends six months building a vast Gargant inspired by the Epic Great Gargant, using plasticard and accumulated parts. Leadbelcher and pale underlayers support airbrushed blue panels, while Martian Ironearth, sponged browns and orange, and metallic stippling create thick corrosion. Killa Kan turrets, a reactor cover and a Warhound weapon convey the project’s scale and his ambition to face a Warlord Titan.
