Lords of War: Fulgrim
April 2025·pp. 28–31
THE SHORT VERSION
Fulgrim’s victories over figures such as Ferrus Manus, an Aeldari Avatar and Roboute Guilliman establish the Daemon Primarch as a devastating but capricious threat. The article traces his descent from Chemos’s ambitious saviour through wounded pride, allegiance to Horus and the corrupting Blade of the Laer, showing how the desire for recognition became an opening for Slaanesh.
Daemonhood makes Fulgrim an immortal object of worship rather than a dependable leader of his scattered sons. His neglect repeats the distant paternal relationship he once resented, while the possible survival of Ferrus Manus’s gifted Fireblade leaves a deliberately uncertain suggestion of remorse beneath his monstrous self-absorption.
