Painting a Battlefield
June 2024·pp. 86–87
THE SHORT VERSION
Ash starts from Jes’s Tyranid colours and builds a bright battlefield that photographs clearly without obscuring the armies. Blue water and pale sand contrast with red earth, while purple flowers and yellow fungi make the vegetation visibly alien. Separate recipes cover waves, trunks, ruined fortifications and soil, keeping the varied scenery coherent across the board.
