Stage by Stage: Grey and Red Bases
June 2024·p. 30
THE SHORT VERSION
Black cracked earth, cold grey stone and two Martian reds use the same basic progression but produce markedly different settings. Drybrushing catches the rough surfaces more naturally than precise edge highlights would. Dan also recommends leaving hollows in texture paint for puddles and allowing some base colour onto a model’s feet when it helps bind the warrior to its environment.
