Carapace Markings
April 2024·p. 34
THE SHORT VERSION
Broad dark shapes establish the carapace pattern before smaller stippled marks break up their boundaries. Pale spots and edge highlights then sharpen the blue design without requiring perfectly blended transitions. Emily scales the markings to the creature and tests a green variation, showing how the same underlying method can produce a related scheme rather than an exact copy of one miniature.
